Sunny Side Physio is your newest kid on the block in Somerton Park! We operate out of the lovely Summertown Studio Cafe, which isn’t the norm for physio but we thought why not! We offer a bespoke physiotherapy experience, as our clinic rooms are surrounded by delicious coffee, a food truck out the front, The Loft Collaborative upstairs running pilates classes, a flower shop, monthly markets and wine nights. It’s a hive of activity and we are so excited to join the crew!
How are we different from the rest?
Our unique location isn’t all that sets us apart from the rest! We have a passion for problem solving and human connection. We take the time to get to know you and understand the cause of your issue, rather than forever treating the symptoms. By taking this in-depth and holistic approach, we ensure you’re not stuck in the physio rooms week after week. We want to see real progress and long term gains!
About Sophie
Your physiotherapist, Sophie, is originally from a small country town three hours north of Adelaide called Melrose. She grew up on a farm there, before moving to Adelaide to study Physiotherapy. When she’s not at Sunny Side Physio, you’ll find her drinking coffee in the sun with friends, walking her dog Digby along the beach, running, doing pilates or spending time with family.
Whilst we treat all types of ache and pains, we have a particular interest in pre & postnatal conditions, running injuries, dry needling, headaches and postural pain!

What does treatment at Sunny Side look like?
We utilise hands-on treatments, alongside dry needling, cupping and ultrasound therapy to achieve the best possible outcomes in the quickest amount of time. Whilst also giving you tips to self-manage your pain at home (hello spiky ball), and exercises to strengthen your muscles so your aches and pains don’t keep coming back!
What happens at the first appointment?
1. Take a seat: Come to Summertown Studio, head down to the back near the co-working space. If our door is open, come in! If it’s closed, then take a seat and we’ll bring you in when it gets to your appointment time.
2. Questions and tests: Next, we will ask a few questions about your injury or pain to get a clear picture of when it started and what makes it better or worse. We will then perform some tests to assist with an accurate diagnosis.
3. Treatment: You will receive hands-on treatment to start reducing your pain. This may consist of massage, mobilisations, trigger point therapy, cupping, dry needling or therapeutic ultrasound. You may also be given some things to try at home to make the effects of treatment last longer.
4. Plan going forwards: You will be emailed a treatment plan at the end, which will highlight your diagnosis, goals and treatment plan going forward. If necessary, we will book further appointments in the room. Collect your free coffee card at the end and you’re done!
What are the health and well-being benefits of seeing a Physiotherapist?
Seeing a physio has many, many benefits! We reduce your pain, get you moving again and provide n self-management, so you’re not forever reliant on the physio! We are also big fans of being proactive with our health and are starting to see more and more people book in for a general tune up before niggles pop up!
